Templebredin completed a good day for punters at Clonmel when proving the fifth winning favourite on the seven-race card in the Rathronan Maiden Hunters Chase.
The Stowaway gelding, a five-time winner between the flags, successfully reverted to the track here when making virtually all under Pa King.
The well-backed 5/4 favourite was two lengths up when very awkward at the final fence and Saint Benedict gained a narrow advantage on the run-in.
However, Templebredin rallied gamely in the closing stages getting back up to score by a head with Shuil Luas a further five and a half lengths away in third.
Winning trainer Sam Curling said, "He was very tough. That ground wouldn't be to his liking but he's very consistent. He'll head to Thurles in a few weeks for another hunter chase.
"He'll be a lot better on better ground and is still only young, he'll be a grand horse."
