Ted Walsh’s Old Castletown followed up last year’s success in the Pat Woodbyrne Memorial Handicap Chase with another win in this year’s renewal at Tramore today, claiming his third course win, all under the trainer’s son Ruby Walsh.
The son of Fruits Of Love, previously also a maiden hurdle winner at the venue, was claiming his fourth career success today having made all for his four and a quarter lengths win over Line View
Following the race trainer Ted Walsh stated “he is a Tramore horse and has won three around here now.
“He is only seven, will win a few more around these type of tracks and jumps well. He’ll probably have to go into a better type of race now but might run here on Sunday in a race over two six.
“I’ll see what Ruby says and I'll declare him and see how he is - if is he 100% he might run, if not he'll be in at Killarney and places like Downpatrick.”
