Ted Dolly shows his fitness
Ted Dolly who had finished fourth at Limerick last night, was turned out quickly to gain compensation in Cork’s closing seven furlong handicap.
The Joanna Morgan gelding was fancied to get the job done at the second time of asking as he attracted morning support from 7/2 to 11/4 and then opened on course at 5/2 and was backed in to 7/4 favouritism.
Jockey Pat Smullen said: “He ran yesterday and was fourth. They went extremely fast early on [at Limerick].
“It would have been nice to come today and win under a winners’ penalty. He deserved to win and I think he will be better going a further furlong.” Good To Follow was two-and-a-half lengths back in second while Isis Song came from sixth place a furlong out to take third.
