Trainer Oliver Brady was a notable absentee for his Takestan s win in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Series Handicap at Tipperary today, the gelding winning easily under Paul Townend.

Takestan, a previous winner at the track for former trainer John Oxx, moved through to lead a furlong and a half out, before recording a two and a half lengths win.

The winner's enclosure was a noticeably muted place, for once with a Brady trained winner, with the Co Monaghan trainer unable to attend the meeting due to business commitments.
