David Spratt appears to have a bargain buy on his hands after Synopsis snapped up for 18,000 guineas this summer, gave the Cork owner an immediate payback on his investment by landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at the Curragh.
Fourth for Roger Varian in a Newbury maiden on her only previous outing back in April, the 6/1 chance struck the front inside the final furlong.
The Azamour filly kept on strongly for Colin Keane to beat Melanna by a length and a half, with 9/4 favourite Truth holding every chance a further half-length back in third.
Shane Lyons, representing his brother Ger, said, "David bought her at the Newmarket July Sales out of Roger Varian's yard. He is a master at picking out horses, and also bought Unsinkable last year. We have always liked her since she has come to us.
"That's as quick as she would want the ground and as sharp as she would want. I'd say a mile and a half could well be her ideal trip. We'll try to get some black type."
