Swan wins opener at Limerick
The Charlie Swan trained The Cockney Squire justified favouritism after he took the opening Racing In Red (C&G) Maiden Hurdle in great style under Nina Carberry.
Carberry made all aboard the 11/10 favourite and were clear entering the straight and kept on well for a thirtheen length win.
Winning trainer Swan said afterwards: "I suppose that wasn't the greatest of races but he's a nice horse."
"He has been a bit difficult to train as he was very keen early in his career."
"I don't know what the plan is now, knowing the owner he'll probably want to sell him. I think he'll make a lovely chaser in time as he jumps well."
