Follow The Sign landed a bit of a touch when claiming the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle on the card at Gowran Park today.

Oliver McKiernan's charge was backed from 14/1 this morning and the support continued on track from 8/1 into 6/1.

He tracked the leaders, under Shane Crimin, and was asked for an effort after the second last.

The Old Vic gelding stayed on to tackle long-time leader Horendus Hulabaloo at the final flight and went on in the closing stages for a three-and-three-quarter length success.

The winner was bouncing back to form having been well beaten on his most recent start at Leopardstown last month.

"He jumped well and travelled well," said McKiernan. "He was a bit disappointing at Leopardstown the last day but he came back with a lot of marks on him as if he had been in a battle.

"Maybe the soft ground there today helped him and the two-and-a-half miles. He'll probably stay three miles and he'll go chasing next season."
