Super Over just emerged on top after a terrific duel with Eglish in the Solus Ceramics Handicap at Dundalk, giving Dylan Browne McMonagle a double on the card.
The Denis Coakley-trained gelding was making his return to the all-weather after a couple of outings on the turf. He had been placed on his first three outings for the trainer here earlier in the year.
Browne McMonagle produced his mount to challenge a furlong out and the 11/2 shot just had the advantage close home to record a short-head victory.
“It's great, the horse is owned by good friends of mine and they were kind to buy a horse for me to train, so I'm just glad to give them a winner, ” said Coakley.
“Ciaran Mooney, Adam Mooney, Mark McCloskey and Colm Holmes own him and the first three have been friends for over 30 years.
“He didn't handle Galway and in Leopardstown the ground was too quick.
“He'll probably be up here very month or so.”
