The 2/1 favourite Summer’s Dream landed the Good Enuf To Eat Caterers At Gowran Park Apprentice Handicap (45-65) (DIV II) to make it three winners from his last six runners for Moyne Co. Tipperary trainer Tim Doyle.
Hitting the front over two furlongs out, the Arcano mare saw off several challengers around the furlong marker but then was all out to hold on by a head as the slow-starting Chimeric (9/1) finished with a rattle.
The winning 6-year-old had gained her only previous win under the trainer’s daughter Emma at the Curragh in 2019.
Winning rider Mikey Sheehy said: “She broke well from (stall) four and I had the box seat the whole way around, the run of the race.
“When I took it up she had a look around when I hit the front but she was good and game to the line.
“She was second the last day (in Roscommon) to Is That Love, who has won five, so she's an improving filly and hopefully she can win another one.”
