Stylish win for Triplicate in Galway night-cap

Triplicate may have had to yield to Zulu Alpha for favouritism in the concluding Guinness European Breeders Fund Maiden at Galway, but there wasn't much of a contest out on the track as the former prevailed by nine lengths.
The Ballydoyle winner raced second behind Zulu Alpha in the four runner finale, and Donnacha O'Brien asked him to go and win his race from the two furlong pole.
The mile and a half contest was soon over as the once previously raced Triplicate (third at Dundalk 17 days back) strode clear in the final furlong for a comfortable win.
Donnacha O'Brien reported: "He quickened up well when I asked him and went about his business. He's still a bit weak, and will probably go for a handicap next."
Meanwhile today's attendance was 27,093 as against 21,532 last year. It was the first time this week that the crowd has been up compared with the corresponding day in 2015.
