Strong run of form continues for Twomey and Lee

Following on from their gains with Moll at Leopardstown yesterday Paddy Twomey and Billy Lee struck again in the opener at Roscommon, the four-year-olds and upwards maiden, with Strongbowe (off a 402 day break).
The 5/6 favourite ran out a good length and a quarter winner from El Padre with three and three parts of a length back to Dedillon in third.
The result was confirmed after a steward’s enquiry and thankfully Donagh O’Connor and Scott McCullagh were quickly up after Mudlahhim slipped up and Silk Air was brought down approaching the business end.
“We were happy with him coming here and he duly obliged. He did have a minor set-back since his last run and we just said we’d wait for this year,” said Twomey.
“The drop in trip was down to the fact that there aren’t many options. Where we go now depends on the handicapper.”
