Storm Defies Drift
Carrigmoorna Storm was put in very short by some layers this morning and despite drifting right out to seven to one, John Kiely's charge defied the market to stylishly land the Munster Supporters Club Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Alain Cawley held the daughter of Glacial Storm up, but he produced her to lead two out and she went on to defeat Knockbrack Vic by six lengths.
Kiely said: "She is a promising, well-bred mare. We will look after her and won't run her if the ground is fast. She'll go for a distance race again and she likes that ground. Chasing will be her game eventually." (EM)
