Staying Article now three from four
Staying Article may have had to concede weight and experience to all of his rivals in the Bar One Racing Handicap Hurdle but the six-year-old obviously has a bright future as he proved up to the task under Paddy Mangan.
When Montan jumped the last quicker it appeared to hand him the initiative but Staying Article outgunned him on the run-in to prevail by three parts of a length.
A winner of two from three coming into today, Staying Article is trained by Edward O'Grady who said: "I'm delighted with that. Montan definitely headed him but then he decided he'd done enough.
"It was a nice pot and a possibility for him now would be the Boylesports Handicap Hurdle (at Leopardstown at the end of January – the old Ladbroke)." (AM & EM)
