St Nic jockey in winning form
Joseph O’Brien warmed up, in the best possible way, for a potentially huge weekend with a win on the Joanna Morgan trained Six Silver Lane in the Enniscorty Handicap at Wexford this evening.
O’Brien has been booked to ride St Nicholas Abbey in the King George & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot tomorrow and will have taken heart from his winning ride on Six Silver Lane.
O’Brien produced the son of Aussie Rules with perfect timing, moving the gelding to the front a furlong out before staying on well for a length and a quarter win over Grainne Whale
Morgan was not present for the win, although O’Brien did subsequently say “Six Silver Lane travelled well and quickened up nicely.” Regarding his ride on St Nicholas Abbey, he said “I’m looking forward to the ride tomorrow and am very grateful for being given the ride.”
Six Silver Lane is owned by Hayley O’Connor, Ladbrokes’ PR Manager in Ireland.
