Connections of Spring Watch are enjoying their summer with the gelding as the Mouse Morris trained, J.P. McManus owned six year old followed up his May win at Punchestown with a second this season for jockey Donie McInerney in the Larry O'Farrelly Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon today.
The son of Mahler was a 16/1 winner in May and today justified 5/2 favouritism to beat Dawn Raider by two and a quarter lengths.
Afterwards Gold Cup, Grand National and Champion Chase winning trainer Morris said “he just missed out the last two and drifted over a bit on the run-in but he won well enough at the end.
“He's not the most straight-forward to train. They've done a great job with the ground here but it's probably quick enough for him.”
