Speak In Colours outclasses rivals in Ballycorus

Speak In Colours (11/8 fav) is thriving on a busy schedule and readily won the featured Rybo Ballycorus Stakes for Joseph O’Brien and Shane Crosse.
Racing for the fourth weekend in a row, last Sunday’s Greenlands Stakes winner was ridden with more restraint here over the extra furlong, but had the gears to take the gaps when they appeared in the home straight.
He was impressive as he bounded away to beat Surrounding and Gustavus Weston by two and a quarter lengths and a neck.
It was a first win over seven furlongs (all six previous wins over 6f) for the grey colt by Excelebration, and he’s an admirably tough and talented Stakes performer.
Brendan Powell, assistant to winning trainer Joseph O'Brien commented: “Shane (Crosse) said all the splits came and he was travelling great the whole way.
“That’s his first (win) over seven. He was down in grade a bit but he couldn’t have done it any easier. He must have the constitution of a lion as he’s raced four weeks in a row and been to Ascot as well.
“It was a good bit of placing and a lovely ride too. He’s a star to have in the yard.”
