The consistent Neo Soul bagged a second career victory when landing the five-furlong handicap on the card at Cork this evening.
Gary Carroll produced his mount to lead, on the outer, passing the furlong pole and he kept on well in the closing stages, despite a few flashes of his tail.
The Ger Lyons-trained Kodiac gelding posted a length-and-a-half victory over the staying on Red Lacewing
Neo Soul went to post a 13/2 shot today having chased home stable-mate Jarvis at Bellewstown on his seasonal debut last month. That rival finished sixth this time.
Assistant Shane Lyons said afterwards:- "He came on an awful lot from his Bellewstown run and we expected that but Colin (Keane) couldn't get off Jarvis because he is a very genuine horse.
"The winner improved for the blinkers but we were worried about the ground and Gary was sensible and came up on the virgin unpoached ground. Both him and Jarvis are very fast and a track like this suits them.
"Both will run in those handicaps and are very good fun horses."
