The Michael Halford trained Sonapour under Shane Foley, got off the mark at the fifth attempt when taking the Clonard Maiden at Wexford this evening.

The son of Alhaarth eventually shook off the challenge of Mojita in the straight to record a length win.

Afterwards Halford stated “Sonapour stays well, is tough and is very straightforward and genuine. Once Shane got stuck into him, he was always happy he was going to get there - we’ll probably go for a handicap next.”
