Sole Power off the mark
Sole Power from the Eddie Lynam stable justified his short price when taking the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
Pat Smullen sent the 4/7 favourite to the front early in the straight and kept on in good style for a three and half length win over An Saighdiur
Winning trainer Lynam said afterwards: “That was badly needed. That’s it for the season for him, he was entitled to win this evening.”
“He ran well in York but he didn’t run a great race at Ascot as he got very upset on the way up to the parade ring.”
