Social scoots home in bumper
Social Benefit for Hannah Lee & Declan Queally took the last race on this evening's card at Wexford, The Knockhouse Stud Mares bumper.
The daughter of Benefical (also sired the previous winner The Hard Hat hit the front 2 furlongs out and ran on strongly to win comfortably with the fast finishing Andunowhat four lengths away in second.
Winning trainer Hannah Lee was absent for the win but assistant trainer Kevin Foy stated afterwards “We train 10 in Gort, Co Galway. We are delighted with that as she ran a cracker on her last start here and finished just a length behind Tango Moll (in the race won by Lady Knightness).
“She was only 7/1 in the papers but when we got down here she was 33’s in the ring and we had a nice bet on her, so we are delighted.
“We have no immediate plans for her now, but she could go for a winners race before going hurdling."
The winning owner and trainer's husband Joseph Lee was present for the win.
The well supported 7/2fav Tango Moll lost her place and had no more to offer with less than half a mile to travel. She finished a disappointing sixth.
