Snow Watch takes opener at Leopardstown
Snow Watch over-turned the odds on favourite Gatamalata (4/7) when running out a length and a quarter winner under Declan McDonogh of the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Leopardstown this evening.
Kevin Prendergast’s charge sat in second for most of the way, and McDonogh made his move over a furlong out.
The 14/1 shot responded well to pressure, leading inside the final furlong to deny favourite Gatamalata and Chris Hayes.
Winning jockey McDonogh said afterwards: "He has plenty of talent. He's not the most straight forward and he has taken his time."
