Smullen records double
Champion jockey Pat Smullen recorded a quick double this evening when coming home in front in the Clonard Maiden aboard the Dermot Weld trained Reflected Image for owners Trevor Steward and Lady O’Reilly.
Smullen settled the Refuse To Bend filly in behind the leaders.
She was ridden along from over 3f out and stayed on to challenge for lead over 1f ou. The pair had to battle all way to the line to hold off the Jessie Harrington trained Sandymount Lady by a short head.
The first leg of Smullen’s double came with Trikirk landing the Blackstairs Claiming Race for trainer Michael Grassick.
