Smullen records double
Pat Smullen recorded a double at Leopardstown this evening when winning the concluding race, the Avoca Maiden aboard the Michael Grassick trained Boulay in the colours of Kevin Campbell.
Winning trainer Grassick said afterwards, "Pat said she definitely needs an ease in the ground and she might even need 1 mile 6f.
"I was in two minds as to whether run her or not on account of the ground, she won’t run on ground as fast as this again. She needs a true run race."
Smullen's earlier winner came aboard Rose Hip when the pair landed the Fernleigh Handicap.
