Andy Slattery is looking towards next month's Royal Ascot meeting with Fiach McHugh as the gelding registered a second successive monthly win in the FBD Hotels And Resorts Handicap at the Curragh today.
The son of Belardo has been ridden in all his races by the trainer's son Andy Slattery and the pair followed up last month's Dundalk success when today beating National Gallery by three parts of a length.
Slattery senior said “he's a smart horse and it's nice to have him. We gelded him in February as he was acting the brat and it turned him inside out.
“He won his maiden in Dundalk and the filly he beat there (Honey Girl) was third in a Group 3. He was second to Ivy League then when he ran too free over a mile and that's why we dropped back to seven. We settled out the back today and I think he'll get a mile ridden like that.
“We might give him an entry in the Britannia Stakes at Ascot.”
