A Few Dollars More recorded his second course and distance win at Cork as he took the Cork Racecourse Handicap under Declan McDonogh for Andrew Slattery.

Successful at the course in May of last year, the four-year-old son of Moss Vale was last seen finishing down the field at Tipperary in August.

Making his seasonal reappearance today he was sent off at 8/1 in the colours of owner/breeder Kevin Walsh.

Prominent throughout he was ridden and hit the front just under two furlongs out, keeping on well inside the final furlong to score by two lengths. Shanghai Beauty was sent off the 4/1 favourite and she finished second under Shane Foley for Ken Condon, while Battleroftheboyne (16's to 12's on-course) was a further half a length back in third under Gary Carroll for Eamonn O'Connell.

Andrew Slattery said afterwards: "I don't back horses and was never in the local betting office until this morning!

"He lost his form last year but we cauterised his palate five weeks ago and it has made a big difference - I fancied him today.

"I think there's a good handicap in him but he wouldn't want real quick ground.

"I'd eight for the flat last year and had 13 winners and have 15 this year, four of which are two year olds."
