Sinndar's bro off the mark at Down Royal
His dam Sinntara won the Cesarewitch up the Curragh almost twenty years ago and of course she went on to produce the brilliant Sinndar and though Sinntani will never reach the heights of his Grand Lodge half-brother, he got off the mark in style under the bang-in-form Niall McCullagh in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Down Royal. The success was completing a double for the John Oxx yard as they had earlier taken the Ulster Oaks with Celendine
McCullagh, partnering his fifth winner in four days, led aboard the odds-on Sinntani three furlongs out and from two furlongs out the contest was over as the twice previously raced son of Dalakhani galloped on for an easy nine length win.
Oxx said: "He enjoyed that bit of moisture in the ground. He did that a bit better than expected and we'll see what sort of mark he gets now.
"I wasn't going to run as I thought he needed good ground. The ground isn't too bad here though and we might consider a conditions race for him now."
