Silky Smooth Dani
Dani California and Lyceum were 'well-in' for the Vinegar Hill Handicap, relative to their marks over flights, and so it proved as the former wasn't extended to account for her chief market rival by three parts of a length. In front approaching the straight under Davy Condon, the 9/4 favourite beat Lyceum, who tried hard under pressure but couldn't match the smooth winner.
Willie Mullins trains the daughter of Beat All, who took the featured hurdle at Tramore a fortnight back. He said: "She is an improving filly and her main aim now is the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel. We'll see what the handicapper does to her, there is a chance that she could have another run in a flat handicap before Listowel." (EM)
