Sil Ver Klass (3/1f) got off the mark over fences with an overdue second jumps success at Fairyhouse today, landing the Jump Into January Handicap Chase for trainer Tony Martin and jockey Bryan Cooper.
A dual flat winner, the eight year old's only previous jumps win was in a Limerick hurdle in 2018 and today benefitted from a patient Cooper ride, beating Nelly's Money by two lengths.
Martin later said “he’s been an unlucky horse and has been second a lot of times. He’s had a few hard luck stories.
“He’s had a few niggles but we’re back motoring well now and he jumped well today.”
