Shy Smile flashes home
Shy Smile stormed home in the final furlong to grab the spoils on the line in the Charlie Chute Memorial Handicap. Lizzie Bennett had proved tough after leading inside the furlong pole but was just denied at the death by Danny Grant's mount.
"She's small but tough," said Aidan O'Ryan, representing trainer Jim Gorman.
"She loves coming with a late finish and the ground is the key to her."
