Shumaker justified good support in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse when running out a cosy winner for Darragh O'Keeffe.
The seven-year-old, trained by Antrim based handler Paul Traynor, was backed from 12/1 into 9/2.
O'Keeffe tracked the leaders before sending his mount into the lead before the second last. He soon had matters in hand to record a five-length success over De Mazzaro
The winner had been seventh behind Theatre World on his return to jumping at Navan a fortnight ago and Traynor said:-
“I'm delighted. He ran a great race the last time and we knew he would improve from it.
“Darragh was keen to ride him again. He was delighted with him, he said he travelled away and absolutely pinged the last.
“It was a decent race, there were plenty of good ones in it.
“We'll see how he comes out of it now and go again somewhere.”
