April Showers made it third time lucky at Navan this afternoon when getting off the mark in the Irish Stallions Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
The Donnacha O'Brien-trained filly went to post the 2/1 favourite having finished second at Cork on her previous start.
Gavin Ryan produced his mount to hit the front two furlongs from home but she was soon tackled by Sense Of Style
The daughter of Galileo found plenty in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half verdict.
“She's a lovely filly. She had a nice run in Cork the last day when she got going a bit late,” said Ryan.
“We like her a lot at home and knew she'd go on the ground here today.
“I made plenty of use of her as she's a good galloping filly and she'll make a lovely three-year-old next year over a mile-and-a-half.”
