Notably strong in the market all day, the 4/7 favourite Chaos Control (from 6/4 this morning) duly landed the BetVictor Proud To Support Irish Racing Nursery with a bit to spare.
Settled in mid-division by Billy Lee, the Mastercraftsman gelding challenged between horses two furlongs out and was soon in front. He was driven out to beat outsiders Holy Devine (66/1) and Yokkel (40/1) by a length and a quarter and a length and three quarters.
The winner had finished in the frame in his first two runs in nurseries and was getting off the mark on his sixth start.
Winning trainer Andy Oliver said: "He probably got stuck in the mud down in Gowran.
“He did it well and looks like a horse that stays well. He probably just did enough when he got to the front.
“He’s out of a good mare and her first foal was progressive. He has a good attitude and he does things well. Maybe he’ll come back here for another one in a couple of weeks and then we might put him away.
“Hopefully he’s a horse that we will have plenty of fun with.”
