Shes Diman susprises Deegan
Curragh based Paul Deegan was fancied to win the Cuchulainn Crystal Handicap at Dundalk tonight with 4/1 favourite Native Dame but it was her unconsidered stable-mate Shes Diman which eventually prevailed, at 16/1.
Ridden by seven pounds apprentice Kieren O'Neill, made most of the running and eventually led inside the final furlong for a narrow success over Thats A Fret
Afterwards Deegan revealed "that was a hell of a surprise! Shes Diman was on her last chance coming here tonight as she had run so badly in the past and here last week!"
He added "wearing first time blinkers seemed to have worked the trick and we'll aim her at something similar again next. Kieren (O'Neill) gave her an excellent ride and is excellent value for his claim."
