Sheila Lavery completed a Gowran double when Moddy Poddle won the Xenon Security Apprentice Handicap under Siobhan Rutledge.
Owner/breeder Denis Maher saw his Pride Of Dubai filly lead, before being joined three furlongs out.
The three-year-old was ridden and regained the lead two furlongs out, in advance of briefly edging left under pressure over a furlong out.
Moddy Poddle then stayed on well under hands and heels in the final furlong to defeat Himalayan Beauty by two lengths.
The successful Summerhill County Meath handler had set the ball rolling on an excellent afternoon at Gowran as New Hill took the 2.30 contest in the hands of Robbie Colgan.
“Another progressive filly and Siobhan gave her a superb ride. She jumps really smart now, and again has improved mentally and physically,” said Ms Lavery.
“We’ll have a look at the programme book and hopefully she’ll keep progressing.”
