Top-weight Sharjah made all as he ran out a game winner of the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap, scoring under Declan McDonogh for Andy Slattery.
The four-year-old son of Shamardal was just beaten over the course and distance last Friday, going down by a neck to Johann Bach.
Available at 6/1 in a place this morning he opened at 9/2 on-course before going off the 4/1 favourite.
Having led from the start he was ridden from the furlong pole and he kept on well in the closing stages to score by half a length.
Havealock Ellis ran on well to take second under Ronan Whelan for Johnny Levins at 11/2 while Minot Street was a further three parts of a length back in third under Colm O’Donoghue for John McConnell also at 11/2.
Declan McDonogh said afterwards: "It is nice to get that as he just got chinned the last day. He didn’t mind making it and he got an easy enough lead. He is a game little horse in that class.
"Hopefully the handicapper won’t put him up too much. He will get a mile and a half and he is a grand little horse."
