Shantou Ed runner-up in a valuable handicap at Fairyhouse last month, went one better when landing the Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown.
The five-year-old gelding got the better of the exchanges in the air at the last with 4/1 favourite Rock The World and the 8/1 chance kept on well on the run-in for Alan Crowe to score by a length and a quarter. Black Spot On was another four lengths further back in third.
Winning trainer Pat Fahy said, "Good As Gold and this horse both worked well in their last bit of work but, after her run yesterday (fifth at Limerick), I was a bit worried. It's great to have a winner at Leopardstown, and it's been a lucky track for me in the past.
"He could go for the Boylesports Hurdle here next month."
