She knows she's done well - Lady Jock

Pat Shanahan made a raid on Hamilton recently with some Thistle Bloodstock runners. He wasn't in the winning groove in Scotland but the Kilkenny-based handler returned to the scene of his maiden triumph with one of the overseas raiders, Lady Jock (12s this morning into 5s) going three places better than her overseas excursion eight days back (4th at Hamilton) in the Enniscorthy Handicap at Wexford under Colm O'Donoghue.
The always prominent chestnut daughter of Giant's Causeway beat Queenscliff by two lengths here.
Shanahan said: "She didn't surprise me though the press were saying she wanted soft ground.
"They (the press) were wrong as she couldn't have it hard enough.
"She had an exceptional run at the Curragh when she was 2nd in a maiden. She got a handicap mark of 69 after that.
"I thought she'd win but I don't know where we'll go now.
"She has the same pedigree as Prince Jock and hopefully she'll stay in training next year. We'll try and get a bit of black-type into her then." (DM & EM)
