Shamrock too strong in hunters
Shamrock Hall powered clear before the second last to run out an impressive winner of the hunter chase at Clonmel.
As the field struggled in the conditions he sluiced through the mud to record a 17-length victory over Bally Wall
It was a first winner on the track in Ireland for 20-year-old amateur Andrew Doyle.
"He's a ten-year-old and has had a lot of problems all his life. We'll keep him to hunter chases" said trainer Denis Hickey.
"Andrew is my nephew. He rode a winner in Spain last year as part of the Fegentri series but this is his first winner on the track in Ireland. He has also rode 13 point-to-point winners."
