Shakeytry gave his trainer Edward O'Grady a welcome winner at Tramore today as the top weight landed the Core Bullion Traders Handicap Hurdle, under jockey Philip Enright.
O'Grady's previous winner was with Humaniste at Tipperary in October but ran just one unplaced horse since Christmas Day, with Shakeytry today gaining a third career success for his owner Michael Lowry's Glebeland Farm Partnership.
Following the race O'Grady, four-times Champion Trainer of the 1970/80s, stated “it was his first run in a long time at Cork the last day and it was natural for him to come on for that. It wasn't a particularly strong race today and it all seemed to work out well. He ran well here before last year.
“He has very rarely been out of the first four and that is his third win today. The boys in the yard have done a great job with him because he hasn't got great legs. They deserve great credit. Maybe we will go for another hurdle with him now before he goes back over fences.”
