Instant Tendance readily added to a Navan maiden hurdle win earlier this year when justifying odds of 8/13 in the opening Follow Kilbeggan On Instagram Mares Hurdle.

The Gordon Elliott-trained daughter of Joshua Tree tracked the front-running Miss Oreo for much of the 2m2f event with the other three runners well off the pace.

The hot favourite was sent to the front approaching the straight and Kevin Sexton could sit motionless as his mount stretched clear on the run-in for a facile 17 lengths verdict. Cappacurry Ealu was driven along a long way out but kept on in the closing stages to snatch the runner-up spot with Miss Oreo a further length and three-quarters back in third.

Sexton said, “It looked straight forward on paper and it was as it looked.

“I was happy enough to let her find her feet as it was her first run on ground like that. She travelled lovely, jumped brilliant and was very professional.

“I think the only one that could have got her beat was me!”

Sexton was following up a double at Downpatrick yesterday and made it five wins in the space of a week.
