September Leaves (2/1f) was an appropriately named winner at Gowran today, as the Jessica Harrington-trained filly landed the Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap in first-time blinkers.
Ridden by Shane Foley, the Moyglare Stud-owned daughter of Night Of Thunder was an all-out short-head winner from Gandolfo and thus followed-up her previous success at Limerick in June.
Kate Harrington, representing her mother, reported “she’s been threatening on her last couple of runs and it’s nice for her to get her head in front again.
“She’s in the new (HKJC World Pool Autumn) Fillies Handicap on Champions Weekend off bottom weight and even with a penalty there will possibly need a few to come out in order to get in. It would be nice if she did get in there as she loves fast ground and Leopardstown.”
