The veteran Joxer won with first-time cheek-pieces on when triumphing in the Sponsor A Race At Tramore Racecourse Handicap Chase under Ryan Treacy.
Bill Harney’s charge took over from Burning Issues going to two out. Mindsmadeup seemed to be chasing in vain when making a mistake at the last and at the line nine lengths separated them.
Backed from 16/1 into 12/1 Joxer was winning his first race since January 2012 so it was no surprise to hear Harney explain: "That was some bonus! He had a fracture leg and two tendon injuries. He should be gone long ago, so it's a great bonus.
"He is in semi-retirement.
"We might get greedy now and go again. There might be something around Killarney for him.
"The cheekpieces must have helped, but the ground was treacherous the last day in Cork as well, he couldn't quicken on it."
