Seeker strikes for Moran
Fortune Seeker stuck on gamely in the closing stages to land the second division of the Mask Pavillion Handicap Hurdle, the concluding contest at Ballinrobe. Manger Hanagment tried valiantly to chase home Brian Moran's charge but couldn't find a way past.
John Barry 's mount kept on for a two-length success. 10/3 favourite Jewel In The Sun couldn't land a blow back in third.
"She ran well in Clonmel so we thought she had a great chance today," said Moran.
"She's had a few niggly problems. We'll probably go back chasing now for a handicap in Killarney. She's a good honest mare."
Moran, who trains in Limerick, had the distinction of partnerning Dorans Pride to his bumper success and also won the 2002 running of the famous Maryland Hunt Cup on Young Dubliner.
