Seanie gained his third course success and first over the distance when taking the six furlong claimer at Dundalk tonight.
Declan McDonogh got the 7/2 shot into the lead from his wide draw and he stuck on well when pressed inside the final furlong.
The David Marnane-trained nine-year-old went on to record a convincing length-and-three-quarter success over 6/4 favourite Sheisdiesel
He was turning around form with the runner-up and also the third-placed Reddot Express as the placings had been in the reverse order for the front three home over seven furlongs here last time.
McDonogh said:- “David said to try and go to the front if you can and I got it handy enough.
“I didn’t have to light him up going down to the first bend, and he was within himself on the turn.
“When they joined me I thought they were going to run by and he got a bit of heart when they didn’t. He’s a good old warrior.”
There were two claims in for the winner at €8,000. Gary Ryan was successful and the gelding will now be trained by Karl Thornton
