Sea Chariot successful in a maiden here earlier this year, appreciated a return to the polytrack at Dundalk to take the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap.

The John Murphy-trained gelding, available at 11/1 this morning and further supported on track from 15/2 into 9/2, was patiently ridden by Shane Foley who elected to switch his mount right towards the stands’ side over a furlong out.

Many of the 14 runners were still in contention spread right across the track at this point but Sea Chariot kept on best in the closing stages to beat Not Just Yet by three-quarters of a length. Giselles Defence and Little Keilee were among those close behind in third and fourth.

Foley said, "He had a good run in Naas after he won here and then a few things went wrong, the ground had been too slow and he was a bit keen on a couple of his starts. George and John (Murphy) just decided to geld him and gave him a bit of a break.

"We went fast and I gave him a chance and they probably fell in a hole a little bit, but it was still a good performance on his first run for a while.

"He'll be a nice horse up here for the winter."
