The Shane Nolan trained Schoolboy Error (7/4f) survived a stewards' enquiry before collecting the concluding 8.50pm Follow Fairyhouse On Social Media Handicap at Fairyhouse this evening.
Ridden by Chris Hayes, Schoolboy Error bumped Creative Talent inside the final furlong, who in turn bumped Match My Fire Creative Talent failed to quicken and finished third but Match My Fire did finish well and eventually got to within a head of the winner passing the line.
The Stewards subsequently called an enquiry but left the result stand.
Following the race, jockey Hayes reported “I got there sooner than ideal. He ran the other day (in Roscommon) and he was very fresh. It was his first run after a break, and that knocked the edge off him.”
