Lady Scathach followed-up on her recent Navan success, as she took the last at Leopardstown this afternoon, the TRM Kurasyn Handicap.
Successful three times last season, the Tom McCourt trained five-year-old was upped twelve pounds in the handicap for her most recent win.
Owned and bred by Ciara McGee, the daughter of Zoffany was settled behind the leaders by Danny Sheehy and was a close sixth entering the straight.
She travelled strongly to lead from the furlong pole and kept on well from there to record a snug length and a half success.
Mulzaam (12/1) finished second under Joe Doyle for Denis Hogan, while Silk Cravat (15/2) and the staying on Tai Sing Yeh (10/1) were third and fourth respectively. Drumquina was sent off the 9/2 favourite and she finished fifth.
McCourt said afterwards: "She's improving no end at the minute and she quickened up really well.
"She did a few bits of work early in the year like that and then she flattened off a bit but she's improving now with every run.
"She won over a mile on soft ground at Navan the last day, and today it was seven on good ground. She was galloping all over them a furlong down.
"She takes her racing fairly well and is entered at Galway next week so we'll see how she is over the next couple of days."
Danny Sheehy, who was unseated in the third race, added: "I started the day on a low but finished on a high!"
Sheehy was following on from the success of his brother Mikey in the previous contest.
STEWARDS REPORTS
The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the home turn involving Mulzamm ridden by James J. Doyle, Cracking Name ridden by O.J. Orr and Drumquina, ridden by G.M. Ryan, where it appeared that Cracking Name got tight for room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.M. Ryan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 5 racedays.
O.J. Orr, rider of Cracking Name trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran out of room inside the last furlong.
S. Foley, rider of Airgead trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's action shortened up in the last furlong.
