Sangria (5/2f) made a winning handicap debut at Dundalk today as the MV Magnier-owned, Joseph O'Brien-trained filly landed the Lengthen The Odds BetVictor Nursery Handicap under jockey Mikey Sheehy.
The daughter of Gutaifan had failed to place on four previous runs but today, rated 66, quickened well for a length and a half success over El Valle
Afterwards jockey Sheehy reported “she was an early type and was running in good maidens at the start of the season. She’s come on from the run the last day and handles the surface well.
“I’d a good draw and was able to use the advantage from that. In fairness she’s quickened up well and put the race to bed. It’s nice to get her head in front and hopefully she can go in again.”
