Samitar is Moyglare bound
Samitar is on course to step up to seven furlongs in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on August 28.
Mick Channon is targeting the Rock Of Gibraltar filly at the Irish Group 1 rather than keep the Albany Stakes winner to six furlongs.
The Royal Ascot victor also holds an entry in the Jaguar Cars Lowther Stakes at York on August 18 but Channon is aiming Lady Gorgeous, winner of a maiden at Newbury last month, at the Group 2 on the Knavesmire.
"She (Samitar) goes for the Moyglare at the end of the month and we run Lady Gorgeous in the Lowther at York," said the West Ilsley handler.
"Samitar is a smashing filly. We gave her a bit of a break which I always wanted to and she seems in great heart. We'll see what the next few weeks bring, but if everything is right we'll go to the Moyglare."
This afternoon's Keeneland Debutante Stakes, over the "Moyglare" course and distance, is sure to prove a major pointer for the Group 1 with the likes of the unbeaten Maybe Remember Alexander Teolane and impressive Leopardstown maiden winner Yellow Rosebud all set to line-up today.
