Salvador Ziggy is now two from two for Gordon Elliott after giving weight away to the field in the rated novice hurdle at Roscommon.
The 5/6 favourite crept into contention in third at the second last where Dovlator had got on terms with Desert Friend
The latter made a mistake and was swallowed up on the run to the last on either side by Dovlator on the outer and Salvador Ziggy on the inner.
Salvador Ziggy took a narrow lead on the run-in and was ridden home by Jack Kennedy to win by a snug length and a quarter from the 12/1 runner-up. Desert Friend dropped four and a half lengths back in third at 9/1.
Kennedy said: "He did it well, he jumped well and he's a horse that will probably get further as well.
“He'll jump a fence too so there is plenty of fun to be had with him. He jumps great and he's a nice horse.”
Salvador Ziggy won his maiden hurdle at Punchestown in May and also took a Listowel bumper for his previous trainer James Fahey.
